I’ve watched the tutorial video and I’m in the Facebook group. I’m ready to start drafting new blog posts. What should I do first?
After watching the tutorial video and joining the Facebook group, here is an overview of the best practices for what to do next:
1. Find the Domain Authority/Domain Rating of your blog. If you are having trouble, click on the red button at the bottom right of your RankIQ account to contact me for help.
2. Reference the chart on the Keyword Library page to find out the Competition level of the keywords you should be using for your blog's Domain Authority/Domain Rating.
3. Find keywords by reading through the keywords in the library on your niche, searching, and/or requesting that we do custom research for you. If you can't find what you are looking for, please reach out to me by clicking the red Help button in the bottom right of your RankIQ account screen.
4. Save the keywords that you can post on to your My KW Library. If you *think* it is a possibility, then save it. (Later, you can read through the keywords you have saved, and decide which you will post on, and in what order.)
*Remember that the keywords are handpicked to put you in a position to rank. So not everything under the sun will be in our library (unlike other SEO tools). The library is meant to TELL you what to write on. This is very different from other SEO tools, which contain massive databases with all keywords, and you go into their database for what you want to write about (which may or may not rank).
5. After you have enough words saved in your My KW Library, you go through and start making decisions about which ones you will post on, when, and run reports.
6. The AI SEO Report has a section to guide you on how to construct a title, a section that shows you the words to use when forming your outline and structuring your post, and the bottom section is just to show you posts that do the best job at covering the material. After you’ve evaluated your report and are ready to write, use the Content Optimizer to start constructing your draft. Make sure you get an A++ and also, independently, meet or exceed your wordcount. Shoot for the highest quality post on your keyword that is out there. Your goal is to produce a post that follows the guidance in the content report but also goes beyond this historical perspective to create content that is fresh and unique. You do not want to merely rehash other content out there.
7. Last, make a plan for using all your report credits, hopefully well before the last day of the month when people are rushing to run their reports. (The industry standard is "use or lose.")
With the Standard Plan of 16 reports per month, a sensible option is to use 8 reports for new posts, and run 8 reports to optimize old posts. Regardless of how the split between reports for new posts and old posts in your particular case, please review Brandon's guide for updating old posts before deciding on which old posts to update.
